The suspects, Olusola and Olatunji The suspects, Olusola Opeyemi, 23 and Adeagbo Olatunji, 35, were accused of collecting blood from students of Oyewole High School, Agege. P.M.NEWS gathered that the blood donors were paid between N1,000 and N1,500 each. Investigations revealed that the blood collected from the students was sold to a middleman, Adetola Kayode, 48, for N7,000 per pint. Kayode, it was learnt, sold the blood to two men who claimed to be doctors at N11, 000 per pint. Police identified the ‘doctors’ who have been arrested as Otokiti Ajibola, 53 and Ladunni Steven, 52. A traditional chief, Chief Sanni Olayinka, the Asoju-Oba of Orile Agege, who narrated how the suspects were arrested disclosed that he was with the DPO of Elere Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Phillips Eze when the Oba of Agege phoned him to come to the palace immediately. “When I got to the palace, I saw the arrested suspects with a large crowd. I quickly called the police to prevent the suspects from being lynched,” Olayinka disclosed. The DPO of Elere Station declined to confirm the story when contacted by P.M.NEWSbut a source at the station confirmed it. Teachers and students at Oyewole High School also declined to comment on the matter for fear of being sanctioned. A teacher in the school who confirmed the incident, said the incident had been going on for a long time. Attempt to see the principal of the school also proved unsuccessful, as he was said to be attending a meeting.
